Top Ten Things You Should Never to Say to a Single Woman

This is purely for comic relief purposes only. While I have certainly had all of these things said to me at one time or another I'm not trying to be mean or demeaning to anyone who might have said them. I'm posting them merely for humor's sake. I'm sure if you've been single for any length of time you'll identify with some if not all of these questions.
- So, when are you going to tie the knot?
- It's YOUR turn next!
- Can you babysit while we go to the couple's barbecue?
- Have you tried E-Harmony?
- Have you been looking?
- So, why aren't you married yet?
- Have you prayed about it?
- Maybe you should get out more.
- You need to meet a really nice young man who loves the Lord.
- Being married isn't all it's cracked up to be

- Here, have a chocolate bar.
- GIRLS NIGHT!
- You look nice!
- Here, have a dark chocolate bar.
- Let's go shopping!
- Let's watch a Jane Austen movie
- Here, have a white chocolate bar.
- I've been praying for you!
- You're such a blessing!
- Here, have another chocolate bar.

These are funny!
But I have found in my life that chocolate and shopping and Jane Austen can become idols, or fuel for the idol of escaping singleness. There are also better things to be doing with myself most of the time (things that prepare me for the life ahead unlike any chocolate bar has ever done!) I'd much rather have people willing to spend time with me, to check up on me spiritually; because I'm closer to content when my relationship with God is going well.
When I watch Jane Austen or eat chocolate, I don't want it to be because I need it.
Thanks for what you do, though. I'm really encouraged by your posts.

Dear LisaThanks for your comment. We realize of course, that having a personal relationship with God is the only thing that can bring true contentment and we would never endorse or publish anything else.
Our list of things to say to a single woman is merely intended as a humorous post.
Chocolate, while quite yummy, can never replace our need for drawing closer to God and being a blessing to those around us.
We at the IDDBlog often use humor in our posts, because it is one way to encourage--but we would never intend to encourage focus away from God :) Thanks again for your comment and have a blessed day!
